Based in Surabaya, he first joined Almaluna as a server about seven years ago. When he saw an opportunity to join in and learn more about wine, he didn’t hesitate to take it and the rest is history.
As Head of Sommelier at Almaluna, he oversees the day-to-day operations of the wine division as well as trains new talent.
Almaluna offers the most complete range of wine collections for all wine lover. It’s a great place for you to find a wide variety of wines and diners can rely on Yoga’s expertise to tell more about current trends or to recommend which wines are best to maximize their dining experience!
With a WSET Level 2, Yoga also helps the Australian Embassy to spread their love of Australian wine by being a speaker at their wine tasting event. Now, he is preparing to achieve WSET Level 3 and Master Sommelier school in Hong Kong this year.
He is passionate about studying wine because it is so comprehensive. Because wine is complicated, understanding the terroir itself is paramount.
In the future, Yoga aspires to be more advanced in the field of wine and have a sommelier certification and produce new talents.

A: Because wine tell me about art, culture and perfection
Q: How did you get into wine?
A: I was work in Wine Shop and that was start my journey wine industries
Q: How did you get into wine and why did you want to pursue a career in it?
A: Because when I was work, I meet with a lot of wine from arround the world, and when I was try to understanding with study it, I was Fallin in love it
Q: What are the benefits of learning about wine and really understanding it?
A: I can identify about taste, value and history behind that wine. So that, I can suggest my customer to choose the best wine for them and food pairing as well.
Q: What’s your advice to someone just starting to learn about wine?
A: Love your passion, keep study and always improve your knowledge.
Q: How does it change the experience of tasting a wine?
A: With improve the knowledge of wine, we can understanding how to tasting wine properly. From way to hold a wine glass until sipping a wine and make conclusion.
Q: If you could share a glass of wine with one person, who would it be, what would you drink and where?
A: I would be with my wife and sip a glass of rose at the beach to enjoy sun set
